They are a set of 14 species that inhabit the Galapagos Islands. They were discovered by Charles Darwin when he studied the connection between various species around the world.

One of the species is usually called a vampire bird. He lives in the northern part of the archipelago, on two islands. Darwin Finches feed on the blood of sick birds. It is unfortunately in danger of extinction.
