The Galapagos Islands were part of the initiative “Action for the planet” which aimed to clean its beaches. In the insular region, about 876 volunteers, residents and tourists, were divided into the islands Floreana, Isabela, San Cristóbal and Santa Cruz, which collected about 4,353.4 kilograms of waste in 119 kilometers of coast of 46 sites.
